Virtual Reality creates simulated, hyperrealistic virtual environments that users can interact within. While any disruptive technology needs time to evolve to be 100% consumer ready, Virtual Reality presents fundamental shifts to some of the key industries that are closely tied to our lives.

MineMR attended Digital Hollywood last week to check out the newest and hottest innovations around Virtual Reality. There were lots of discussions around the technology, applications, limitations, and where it’s headed. One recurring theme throughout the various panel discussions was the versatility of the new medium and how it can revolutionize a wide range of industries beyond entertainment. When thinking of virtual reality, gaming and movies immediately come to mind for most of us. However, virtual reality has far more potential beyond entertainment use. For instance, MineMR utilizes virtual reality to test new product designs and environment designs. The built-in ability to collect head-tracking data makes it possible to measure the shopping journey in a whole new way. This is a critical departure from the conventional concept testing and environment testing that have been conducted in the category for years.  We are early in the disruption and excited about how it can revolutionize the traditional notion of market research as technology evolves.  Who’s with us?
